Review AI recommendations

This screen suggests things that might help you grow — a course, an internal opportunity, a mentor, a career path — based on what your record already shows. Every suggestion carries its reasoning and a confidence figure, and you decide what to do with it.

Required role: Any signed-in user with an employee record.

  1. Go to Performance → Insights → AI Recs.
  2. Select Generate for me.
  3. Read the suggestions on the All tab, or move to a tab for one type.
  4. Select Show reasoning on a suggestion to see why it was made.
  5. Select Accept or Dismiss.
  6. Rate the suggestion with Mark helpful or Mark not helpful.

The screen generates suggestions for the signed-in person, from their own record. It is not a management tool and it does not show one person another person’s suggestions.

OptionDescription
CourseA course that would close a gap you have.
Learning PathA sequence of courses rather than a single one.
OpportunityAn internal opportunity you could apply for.
MentorSomebody who could mentor you.
Career PathA progression between roles.
SkillA skill worth building.
Development GoalA development goal to set.
Stretch AssignmentA piece of work that would build experience.

Every type can appear in your list, but not every type can be generated on demand. Skill, Development Goal, and Stretch Assignment have no generate control on their tabs — suggestions of those types arrive through the general generation rather than being requested individually.

OptionDescription
ConfidenceHow strong the match is, as a percentage.
Show reasoningThe explanation of why this was suggested.
AcceptTake the suggestion up. It is then marked as accepted.
DismissRemove it from your list.
Mark helpful / Mark not helpfulRate the suggestion itself.

Read the reasoning before the confidence figure. A high confidence match against a skill you recorded three years ago and no longer use is confidently matching the wrong thing, and only the reasoning shows you that.

Example: a suggestion for James Whitfield at HC Corp naming a course that closes a gap on his target role’s requirements is worth acting on. The same course suggested because of a skill he last touched in a previous job is not, and the reasoning is where the difference shows.

Accept and Dismiss decide what happens to the suggestion. Mark helpful and Mark not helpful rate its quality, which is separate feedback about whether the suggestion was any good.

Rating honestly is worth the two seconds. A suggestion you dismissed because it was irrelevant and one you dismissed because you had already done it are the same action but very different feedback.

Generating suggestions is an AI action and consumes credits from your allowance. If nothing generates, the screen says so directly — that nothing matched your current profile yet — which usually means your record is thin rather than that the feature failed.

Example: if Tom Hargreaves has no skills recorded at HC Corp, generating suggestions for him produces nothing useful. Recording his skills first is what makes the feature work at all.

Accepting a course or an opportunity takes you into the module that owns it — learning, opportunities, or career — where the actual enrolment or application happens. Nothing on this screen commits you to anything on its own.
