Find external training

What this achieves

The Training Directory is a catalogue of courses run by outside providers, kept up to date centrally rather than by your company. Use it when you need training that your own course library does not cover.

Required role: Any signed-in user.

Steps

Go to Training Directory.
Search under Skill for the capability you need.
Narrow by Sector, Country, and Delivery mode.
Read the courses that come back.
Select View course to open it on the provider’s own site.
Select Clear filters to start again.

The filters

Option	Description
Skill	Find courses that teach a specific skill.
Sector	Narrow to training aimed at one industry.
Country	Narrow to providers operating where your people are.
Delivery mode	Online, Offline, or Hybrid.

Searching by skill is the most useful habit, because it lets you start from the gap rather than from a course name. A gap you found in your own skills reporting can be typed straight in here — both sides describe capability the same way.

Example: Olivia Bennett filters by the skill her team is short of and by the United Kingdom, rather than reading through every provider to find one teaching in London.

What a course card tells you

Each result shows the course title, the provider’s name, a short description, the skills it covers, and how it is delivered. Where a course is not tied to particular countries, it is marked as Global.

Browsing is where it stops

The directory is a reference catalogue. It does not book a place, take a payment, or enrol anybody, and View course takes you out to the provider’s own website.

Acting on what you find is a separate step. An employee or a manager asks for external training through a training request, which routes for approval where there is a cost.

Example: finding a course here does not commit HC Corp to paying for it. Priya Raman still sees the request and its cost before anything is approved.

Available to everyone

Every signed-in role can open the directory, on any plan. Deciding what training to buy is a question people ask before they have bought anything, so the catalogue is not held behind an upgrade.

What happens next

Once you have found suitable training, move into learning to request it, get it approved, and record that it happened. If the same gap keeps sending you outside, that is worth acting on in skills and competencies — either the gap is worth closing with your own course, or it belongs in hiring.
