Respond to a cycle review
What this achieves
Section titled “What this achieves”A feedback cycle has asked you to review somebody, or to assess yourself. This page covers filling that form in, what happens to your name, and what you can no longer change once you submit.
Required role: Any signed-in user.
- Go to Feedback & 1:1s → My Feedback and open the Pending tab.
- Select Start or Continue on the assignment.
- Read the notice at the top of the form — it tells you whether your responses are anonymous.
- Answer the questions in each section. The form shows how many required questions are still outstanding.
- Complete the Summary: the Overall rating, Overall comments, Strengths, and Areas for improvement.
- Select Save Draft if you want to come back to it.
- Select Submit and confirm.
The Summary section
Section titled “The Summary section”| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Overall rating | A single rating for the person overall. |
| Overall comments | Anything you want to highlight overall. |
| Strengths | What this person’s key strengths are. |
| Areas for improvement | What they could improve. |
Where the cycle has no template attached, the form has no question sections and the summary is the whole of it. The screen tells you when that is the case.
Whether your name is shown
Section titled “Whether your name is shown”Read the notice at the top of the form. Where the cycle is anonymous, it states plainly that your responses are anonymous and that the person will see ratings and comments but not your name.
Where there is no such notice, the cycle is not anonymous, and your review is attributed to you.
Do not assume either way. It is set per cycle, and the same reviewer can be named in one cycle and anonymous in the next.
Example: Priya Raman reviewing Daniel Okonkwo in an anonymous upward-feedback cycle writes knowing her name is not shown to him. In a named manager review the following quarter, the same sentences carry her name.
Anonymity is not invisibility
Section titled “Anonymity is not invisibility”An anonymous review still reaches a real person who knows roughly who was asked. On a small reviewer pool, or where a comment describes a piece of work only one person worked on, the anonymity is arithmetic rather than protection.
Write what you would be willing to own. That is the sentence that survives being wrong about how anonymous the form is.
Submitting is final
Section titled “Submitting is final”The confirmation says it directly: once submitted, you cannot edit your responses. A submitted review shows as read-only with the date you sent it.
Use Save Draft freely and submit once. There is no correction afterwards, no route to add the paragraph you forgot, and no withdrawal.
Declining
Section titled “Declining”Decline turns the assignment down, and you will not be expected to submit for it. You can add a reason, which is optional.
Declining is the right answer where you genuinely lack the context — a colleague you have worked beside for three weeks, or a conflict of interest. A guessed review is worse than a missing one, because it becomes a number in somebody’s result.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”Your submission counts towards the cycle’s completion figures, broken down by relationship. Once enough responses are in, a result is generated for the person you reviewed, combining every reviewer’s answers. Your own submitted reviews stay readable to you, read-only, on your Results tab.
