Create a customer workspace

A workspace is one customer’s own Humavera environment, separate from every other customer’s. Creating one gives that company somewhere to be set up, before anyone from that company can sign in.

Required role: Humavera platform staff.

  1. Go to Platform → Tenants.
  2. Select Create Tenant.
  3. Enter the Name of the company.
  4. Accept the Slug that fills in from the name, or set your own.
  5. Enter the Country and the Timezone.
  6. Enter the Domain, the Industry, and the Company Size if you have them.
  7. Select Save.
OptionDescription
NameThe company’s name. It appears wherever the workspace is listed. Required.
SlugA short identifier derived from the name. It fills in as you type the name and can be replaced.
CountryThe company’s country. Required.
TimezoneThe workspace’s default timezone. Required.
DomainThe company’s own web domain. Optional.
IndustryFree text. Optional, and used for grouping rather than for any rule.
Company SizeA band rather than an exact number: 1-50, 51-200, 201-1000, 1001-5000, or 5000+. Optional.

Example: HC Corp is created with the country United Kingdom and the timezone Europe/London, so dates and cut-offs in that workspace read correctly for the people using it.

Creating the workspace does not create anybody who can sign in to it. The first user account is created separately, and until one exists the workspace is empty and unreachable by the customer.

Where a workspace is being set up from a sales lead, the lead screen creates the workspace and its first administrator together and sends that person an invitation.

A new workspace starts on the platform’s default package. If the agreement is for something else, change the plan on the workspace record rather than creating the workspace differently.

Once the workspace exists and its first administrator has signed in, everything inside it is theirs to configure — legal entities, departments, people, and policy. Platform staff set the plan and the entitlements around the workspace, not the contents of it.
