Publish a requisition

Publishing takes a requisition out of draft and opens it to applications. It also produces the apply link you share with candidates.

Required role: Administrator.

Check the posting settings first. Show salary on posting and Internal only decide what an applicant sees, and both are easier to settle before anyone has applied than after.

  1. Go to Recruiting → Requisitions and open the draft.
  2. Check the description, the requirements, and the benefits. These are the posting.
  3. Select Publish.
  4. On the Apply link panel that appears, select Copy.
  5. Share that link wherever you are advertising the role.

Example: HC Corp publishes its Senior Software Engineer requisition and shares the apply link in an engineering community post, so applications from that channel arrive against the right role.

The posting shows the role’s own content, laid out in three parts.

OptionDescription
About the roleThe description you wrote on the requisition.
RequirementsThe requirements you listed.
What we offerThe benefits you listed.

Below that is the application form. Write the description knowing it is the whole advert — there is nowhere else for a candidate to read about the role.

Published roles also appear on your organization’s careers page, where a visitor can search open roles and filter them by employment type. A posting marked Internal only is not shown there.

The form is the same for every posting:

OptionDescription
First name, last name, emailRequired.
PhoneOptional.
LinkedIn URLOptional.
Cover letterOptional.

There is no file upload on the form, so a CV does not arrive with an application. If your process needs one, ask for it separately and decide where it will be kept.

On submitting, the candidate is thanked and told their application has been received. Where the requisition requires an assessment, they are also told a short skills assessment will follow by email.

A candidate opening the link for a role that is no longer accepting applications is told the position is closed. An invalid link produces the same kind of message rather than an error page.

That means an old link in circulation is handled for you. It does not mean you can reopen a closed role by resharing the link.

Applications arrive against this requisition and appear on its Applications tab and on the pipeline board. Where an assessment is required, each applicant is sent one, and the result appears against their application once they complete it.
