Generate a course with AI
What this achieves
Section titled “What this achieves”Humavera can draft course content and an assessment from a document you upload or a topic you describe. What it produces is a draft for you to review and edit — it is not finished material and it is not published for you.
Required role: Administrator.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”This produces a draft course, so everything on the course creation page still applies afterwards — grants, certificates, and cost are yours to set. Generation consumes AI credits, and the wizard shows the cost before it runs.
- Go to Learning → Course Library.
- Select Generate with AI.
- On Source, upload a document or describe the topic.
- On Details, set the title and metadata.
- On Structure, set the sections and content.
- On Skills, choose what the course teaches.
- On Assessment, set the quiz options.
- On Pedagogy, set the tone and depth.
- On Design, style the slide decks.
- On Output, set the budget and review options.
- On Review, check the cost and generate.
What you get is a draft
Section titled “What you get is a draft”The wizard says what it does: it drafts the content and assessment for you to review. Treat the output as a first version written by someone who has not met your organization.
Read every section before publishing. The assistant does not know your internal terminology, your policies, or which of your examples are out of date, and a generated assessment can ask questions the content does not answer.
Example: a generated induction course for HC Corp UK Ltd needs Sophie Clarke to check that the policies it describes are the ones HC Corp actually has before anyone is enrolled.
Design applies to every slide deck
Section titled “Design applies to every slide deck”The Design step styles the generated slide decks. Colours default from your brand and can be overridden here, and the choice applies to every deck in the course.
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Theme | Light, Dark, or Accent. |
| Primary and secondary colour | Entered as hex values, defaulted from your branding. |
| Logo placement | Top right, top left, title slide only, or no logo. |
| Charts for numbers | On renders numeric data as native charts; off renders it as bullet lists. |
If no logo is configured, the step tells you and points at where branding is set.
Cost and credits
Section titled “Cost and credits”Generation consumes AI credits and the wizard shows the cost before you commit. Generations in progress or paused are shown on the course library so a long-running job is visible rather than lost.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”The generated course is a draft like any other. Review and edit the content, set the skills it grants and any certificate it issues, then publish it — a course still cannot be published without at least one content item, and generation does not publish anything for you.
