Lock, suspend, or reactivate a workspace

A workspace’s status decides whether the people in that company can sign in. Locking and suspension both stop sign-in and neither deletes anything, so both can be reversed.

Required role: Humavera platform staff.

  1. Go to Platform → Tenants.
  2. Find the workspace using the search box, or narrow the list with the status filter.
  3. Open the actions menu at the end of that row.
  4. Select Lock, Suspend, Unlock, or Reactivate.
  5. For a suspension, enter the Reason. It is required.
  6. Confirm on the dialog.
OptionDescription
ActiveNormal. The customer’s people sign in and work as usual.
TrialEvaluating. The workspace behaves as active, with a trial end date.
DeactivatedThe result of Lock. Users of that workspace cannot sign in.
SuspendedThe result of Suspend. All access is revoked immediately.

Which action is available depends on where the workspace is

Section titled “Which action is available depends on where the workspace is”
OptionDescription
LockOffered on an active or trial workspace. Its users cannot sign in.
UnlockOffered on a locked workspace. Its users can sign in again.
SuspendOffered on an active or trial workspace, and requires a reason.
ReactivateOffered on a suspended workspace, and returns it to active.

Example: a workspace in a billing dispute is suspended with the reason recorded. When the account is settled it is reactivated, and its people sign in to exactly what they left.

None of these actions removes a customer’s records. Locking and suspension change what can be reached, not what exists, and reactivating restores access to the same workspace with its contents intact.

That is the reason both exist. A status change is reversible, so it is the safe thing to do while a commercial question is unresolved.

Suspension is not scheduled and does not wait for a billing date. Anyone signed in at the time loses access. Treat it as the last step of a decision that has already been made and communicated, not as the first.

Example: suspending a workspace in the middle of that company’s payroll week stops the person running it mid-task. The reason you record is what explains that to them afterwards.

The status shows on the workspace list and on the workspace record, so the state is visible without opening the actions menu. The plan, the entitlements, and the credit balance are unaffected by a status change — they are still whatever they were when access returns.
