Generate total reward statements

A total rewards statement gathers everything an employee received in a year into one figure, rather than the salary they would quote if asked. Statements are generated for a year, and an employee can see their own.

Required role: Administrator or Manager.

  1. Go to Compensation → Total Rewards.
  2. Choose the year.
  3. Select the generate button, which names the year you chose — Generate Statements for 2026.
  4. Use View statement for to choose an employee, or select View my own.
OptionDescription
Base SalaryThe salary in force.
Variable Pay TargetThe target for variable pay attached to the role, where one is set.
Allowances (annual)Allowances on the employee record, expressed annually.
Merit IncreaseThe increase awarded through a compensation cycle.
Bonus TotalOne-time cash awards for the year.
Equity ValueThe value of equity awarded.
Total CashEverything paid in cash.
Total CompensationTotal cash plus the value of everything else.

The two totals are separated because they answer different questions. Total cash is what reached a bank account; total compensation includes value that did not.

Example: an engineer at HC Corp UK Ltd on £72,000 with a £3,000 bonus and an allowance has a total cash figure above their salary, and a total compensation figure above that again.

A statement has to be generated for a year before it can be shown. Where none exists, the screen says so for that year rather than showing an empty statement, and generating produces it.

Generating again for a year that already has statements refreshes them from what is currently on record. Run it after a compensation cycle has been applied and after the year’s awards are in, or the merit and bonus lines will understate what people actually received.

An employee can see their own statement. They see the figures — salary, merit, bonus, equity, and the totals.

They do not see their salary band or their compa-ratio here. Position in range is shown to managers while they are proposing and to administrators reviewing a cycle; it is not part of what an employee is shown about their own reward.

The figure an employee has in mind is usually their base salary, because it is the number on their contract. A statement is the answer to what they actually receive, which is normally larger.

That makes it most useful at the point someone is comparing an offer elsewhere against a salary figure rather than against everything they are paid.

Statements stay available for the year they were generated for. Applying a later compensation cycle or recording another award changes what a regenerated statement would show, so regenerate at the point you want the year’s picture to be final.
