Publish a platform announcement

An announcement is a banner that appears to everyone on the platform, in every workspace, for a window you set. It is how planned maintenance, a security notice, or a release reaches customers without anyone contacting them individually.

Required role: Humavera platform staff.

  1. Go to Platform → Announcements.
  2. Select Create Announcement.
  3. Enter the Title and the Body.
  4. Choose the Type and the Severity.
  5. Set the Start and the End of the window it should appear in.
  6. Set Dismissible on or off.
  7. Select Save, then switch Published on in the list when it is ready to go out.

CriticalReserve this. It is the loudest thing the platform can say, and it says it to every customer at once.

Example: notice of a maintenance window is Maintenance at Warning, dated to the window itself. A note that a new capability has shipped is Feature Release at Info.

Dismissible decides whether a reader can close the banner. Leave it on for anything informational. Turn it off only where the message must stay visible for its whole window — and remember that an undismissable banner sits on every screen, for every user, in every workspace, until the end date passes.

A new announcement is not published when you save it. Publishing is the switch in the Published column of the list, which means an announcement can be written, checked, and dated in advance, then switched on when it is due.

The Start and End dates bound the window; publishing decides whether it is live at all. An announcement that is published but outside its window does not appear.

Write it for a customer, not for a colleague

Section titled “Write it for a customer, not for a colleague”

Every announcement is read by people who do not work at Humavera and have no context beyond what you wrote. Say what is happening, when, and what it means for them. Announcements can be edited after publication, but they cannot be unsent from the people who already read them.

Deleting an announcement removes it permanently and cannot be undone.

Published announcements inside their window appear to every workspace on the platform. Release detail belongs in the release notes instead, which customers read at their own pace rather than as a banner.
